‘Glory be to The Bomb and to the Holy Fallout…’
These were great movies in their time and remain so today. Not everything was about the three-dimensions and the razzle-dazzle and the Dolby Explosive Factor Mark II or the animarobotic hypereffects, etc.
The themes were a lot more subtle in the great films. Nothing had to be exploding in your face all the time. Of course you remember the first time you saw this Holy Fallout scene, and it unnerved you no end.
Nowadays at the cinema, it’s all about the frickin’ lasers and the space-chase scenes, etc. Ugh.
Where’s Robert Vaughn when you truly need him, and not just for the Helsinki Formula?
