Today’s Stakes Pageantry: The one at Frantic City was rained-out; however, if you are a National Hockey League aficionado, it does not get any better than this: three all-or-nothing Game 7 showdowns this evening — think of a slot machine reading 7-7-7 across the pay-line. If some of these games make it to the fourth period, hoo-boy, too much excitement. Unlike the hoopball playoffs, the ice-hockey tournament is always flying, always free-flowing and in motion. Too much stoppages in hoopball. Unwatchable.

Yesterday’s Activity: How ’bout that Real Madrid? Not our favourite team, owing to its many years of fascist support, but the game they turned in yesterday against Bayern was one for the ages. Simply imperious, only one team on the pitch.
