Today’s Stakes Pageantry: None today, but the last two NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship Tournament play-in games take place this evening. In one of those games, Cal Poly is 13-19, yet they are favored over 19-14 Tejas Southern. Tejas!

Yesterday’s Activity: Futurity Trial day at Sunland. Lots of first-time starters. Three horseys touted, all three of them debutantes, one of ’em won, $24-and-change straight mutuel. How is this possible?
