Hey! How’s the weather over there?

Free ones: Rundown…

Sunland (deputizing for Snowzone Park, N.Y.) 9
Calder / Gulf Calder 3, 5, Gulf 5, 8, 10
Santa Anita 7

Pay-side: Today…

Fair Grounds 4, 5, 10
Golden Gate 1, 6, 7
Tampa 4, 7
Turfway 4, 9

Today’s Stakes Pageantry: The lone scheduled stakes was snowed-out today. So over to the Collegiate American Gridiron Throwball games we go, and it’s the Orange Bowl and the Cotton Bowl going on this evening. Why do we suddenly feel like having a couple of St. Joseph children’s aspirin right about now?

Yesterday’ Activity: A bit better on a limited slate.

Over at the Gulf, Ladyfromhavana wired the sixth at $16.60 straight. Ladyfromhavana, 8-1 on the morning line, was one of ’em Triple Threat Horseys — prohibitively strong on the conventional V6 Betting Line, the farthest-out ‘X’ on the Pace Graph, and the highest-rated horsey on the LifeLiner Speed Column. True to her complete LifeLiner array of 99-99-99, she was clear throughout en route to a nearly 10-length romp.

Over at the Laurel, it was first-timer Kobel squeezing out a half-length upset in Race 4, paying $40.20 up top. V6’s Betting Line saw the race as wide-open, and at the bottom of the Fair Odds assigned to five of the seven runners in the race was Kobel, listed at 5-1. Kobel had a qualifying first-time-starter connection line of 12pc/18pc/14pc, and perhaps it was the route distance (albeit a one-turn mile configuration) that scared the bettors away, adding 7 toteboard points to Kobel’s morning line of 12-1.

The runner-up, 4-1, qualified on LifeLiner, and the exacta paid $188.20.
