Nature’s Butter

From the Land of The Avocado-Eatersz, welcome!

That phrase, ‘ -eatersz’, comes in handy, often. Back when the Pilipinas was under American Colonial Rule, the Great White Overseers used to address the locals, directly, to their small, brown faces, “You rice-eatersz!”.

As well, Louis Armstrong can be heard on one of his recordings of “Way Down Yonder in New Orleans” calling the home folks in the audience ‘gumbo-eatersz’.

So, yes, the ‘ -eatersz’ construction has had a long and interesting history. Use it to your advantage to forge an emotional bond with your audience. For example, in Montreal, ‘poutine-eatersz’. In Toronto, ‘[bleep]-eatersz’.

Thank you, Mayor Ford. Keep the quotes coming!

Uh-oh. Vaunted Triple Threat Horsey status bestowed upon #4 Mystical Myles in Crc 7, the Excellent Luck.

Similarly endowed is the upset-minded #3 Signsealndeliver in Haw 6.

Looks good in Hol 3 for #2 Georgia. Cobb County, represent! Same goes for #8 Guam Typhoon in Race 7 at Laurel.

Yesterday’s Activity: And sometimes, all you need is a little mazel, boychik!

Behold Race 4 at Woodbine, featuring the top-touted Ba Ba Brett, one half of a coupled entry.

Ba Ba Brett was OK on the Betting Line, second-ranked there, in a contentious race, and tied for top LifeLiner Speed Column score. At 12-1 on the morning line, Ba Ba Brett went off at 30¢ shy of 22-1.

No good for Ba Ba Brett, though, a fifth-place finish. Boo! Hiss!

Here’s where that mazel comes in, tovarish. The entrymate of Ba Ba Brett, a first-timer named Callmeoldfashion, went gate-to-wire, saving the win mutuel on Ba Ba Brett: $45.40 up top, pretty good even for Canada, a country in which there’s always enough felines at the ol’ homestead but, of course, never enough 20-1 winnersz.

It was OK, because the connection line on Callmeoldfashion was 18pc/12pc/14pc. Howzat!
