How high-minded political operatives get us all in trouble:

Hey, we have this idea. We want to make you the first [fill-in-this-blank] President. The idea is greater than the reality. We pick you because you are young, smart, charismatic, a Senator, but mainly because the idea of making you the first [fill-in-this-blank] President is more important than you yourself, your character, your temperament, your ability to lead or govern. In actuality, we want most of all to see if we can sell you like a box of soap or an automobile to the general public. The reality is no object to the ideal. We will do this! You just sit tight and hang on. We will will you to become the first [fill-in-the-blank] President! You do what we tell you, and we will will you to become the first [fill-in-the-blank] President.

Deliberate, measured, yes, but does Oblahblah really know who he is? His handlers got him in pretty easily, but they are not going to get him out that smoothly. It’s a certified disaster now. Oblahblah probably was right when he admitted his self-doubt of character after that first debate with Rommey (Rommey! Remember him?).

The Angel Moron-i blows his horn in righteous anger!

Free ones: Rundown…

Aqueduct 4, 5, 6
Calder 2, 3, 5, 6, 8
BetFail 4, 5, 6, 7, 8

Pay-side: Today…

Churchill 5, 8, 9, 10
Golden Gate 5, 7
Hawthorne 4, 6
Laurel 5, 7, 8
Retama 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
Remington 1, 4, 6, 7, 9
Woodbine 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11

Today’s Stakes Pageantry: One today, the eighth at Woodbine, and it’s on the pay-side.

Yesterday’s Activity: If you’re going to have only one winner on the day, you may as well make it count. Behold Zadina, Second Bonkersmate in Race 9 at Churchill.

Zadina was lucky to make it on LifeLiner, with the minimum qualifying score of 80 in her Speed Column. But, yep, she was like that last passenger squeezing into the subway car, doors pinching at her coattails. But she got in and she was on her way.

Zadina, 12-1 on the morning line and 51½-1 on the toteboard, had an eventful early part of the race before rallying to the goodness of that LifeLiner Speed Column score of 80. A $105-even win mutuel is nothing to sneeze at! Allah bless you!

The 6-1 runner-up was LifeLiner-eligible, too, and the exacta paid $430, for $2. Top-touted Miss Scout — like Zadina, 12-1 on the morning line — also was ignored, at 28-1 in real life, on the way to running third in this race. The trizacta paid $6,557-even, also for $2. Sorry, but the fourth-place finisher was elusive!

In other news, BetFail continues to live up to its name there. From Inglewood, everybody…goodnight!

  1. KGreen says:

High minded political operatives need to operate like bees, They all work for the Queen, but the queen makes no decisions. The Sterile Female {workers} vote & make the decisions. If Ole Queenie Bee doesn’t follow suit and direction, she meets her demise. So the workers raise another one who will stay in FORM and CONDITION, do the best she can for the colony,, only by following directions & not causing CHAOS.
Without knowing you probably had NICE DAY at CD. ,Friday. Some here in KY did + work, albeit running 2nd {this is no lie} the past 2 days 20 BETS all at > 4/1—10 of them 2ND, not all at CD but other ones included. I figure you had several of the “PAYOFFS”. J. Rancont always touted that book
