Yesterday’s Activity: Free ones had a connection via Out of Thin Air, 10-1 morning and 6-1 actual in a horrendously weak race, the finale at the Santa Anita. Ugh. Only four total horseys mentioned over two tracks on the sparse pay-side yesterday, and one of the horseys ended up in the winner’s circle and not in some abbatoir in gypsy Romania. (It all comes back to Vonnegut. Dresden bombing commemorated a couple of days ago; Billy Pilgrim & the Rest of the Allied POWs housed in that city in a schlacthof, German for abbatoir. Sixty-plus years later, Victory over the Axis results in displaced and vengeful gypsies shoving horsemeat masquerading as ground beef to the continent’s Western bourgeoisie. So it goes…)

Now, back to the Golden Gate connection in Race 5, whereby Sedona Spring was tops on the V6 Betting Line and good enough on LifeLiner. Sometimes you get it right, even if no one else on the airwaves or the social media knows about it: straight-up $26 win mutuel from a 15-1 morning line. Of course, the perzacta was foiled by a similarly cray (cray!) runner-up. Sorry.
