Sunshine accompanied by temps in the mid-to-upper 70s for Studio City now through Tuesday.

Free ones: Rundown…

Aqueduct 8
Gulf 1, 2, 3, 9
Santa Anita 3, 8

Pay-side:

Laurel 3, 7
Oaklawn (finally?) 1, 2, 4, 9
Golden Gate 3

Today’s Stakes Pageantry: None.

Yesterday’s Activity: Well, Jupiter rose in the East just in time for the finale at the Gulf, returning 11-1 from a morning-line valuation of 8-1. He was seventh on the V6 Betting Line/Power Rating lineup, but the race was wide-open and the 86 he registered in the exciting new LifeLiner Speed Column Analysis was sufficient. Interestingly, post-time fave Knock Rock was second on the Betting Line but only sixth in LifeLiner.

No closing glory at the Big A, however, as Person Of Interest was not anywhere near to winning it for Jim Caviezel & the Rest of the Columbia Broadcasting System at 15-1.

Pay-side, some misses and hits. Pure Dreams was bet-down to 6-1 at Laurel in the third, but wasn’t proximate to the minor placings, even. Next race there, somebody knew something with Moving West, forcing him to 3-1 from 10-1 on the morning line. We take the winner but mourn the payoff. Ha!

Street Trader was a nice get in Race 7 at Oldsmar, Fla., At 16-1 when the bell rang, he was bet-up from the 12-1 odds listed in the official track program. Besides being top Betting Line selection in a contentious collection, the Trader had the requisite 80+ from the LifeLiner. ’gratsz! Sadly, could not complete the Bonkers Box Exactor as 5-1 Astonish could manage only fourth in the running. Interestingly, Astonish also was 12-1 on the morning line.

The ninth there had a 61-1 shocker, but locating him remains elusive, even with horsey hindsight. We rather preferred the eventual runner-up, 6-1 Fessed Up, bet-down from 8-1 on the morning.

No catching any of the big balloons afloat in the desert, the Valley of the Sun. Regretsz! Ditto the Nocturnal Submission. Awful.
