Out like a lion Back East, out like a little lamb Out West. As we type, it’s twice warmer in Studio City than in SnowZone Park, N.Y., 82 F to 41 F. Buckets of rain and other troublesome precip on the Atlantic, acres of blue sky and sunshine on the Pacific. zOMG!

All right, all right, ya Weather Channel abusers! Tell it to Al Roker! Meanwhile, here’s the free ones.

Rundown
Aqueduct 6, 7, 8
Gulfstream 5, 7, 9
Santa Anita 3, 4, 7

On the pay-side, just this duo…

Rundown
Oaklawn 6, 7, 8
Golden Gate 1, 4, 8

Pretty much, if you keep away from Aqueduct and Golden Gate, you should find sufficient opportunities. Unless, that is, you’re simply jonesing to play every conceivable parimutuel Thoroughbred on the North American continent today. If so, have at it! We’ll swing by the ICU tomorrow to come visit. Hahahhaha!

Hey! Today is the start of your 2011 MLB campaign! Hallelujah! We don’t need no more Koobay Brian and Paul Gasahol. (But Blake Griffin, you can stay!) Now is the time for a true team sport. Looks good this season for your Saucks (Boston variety) and, fingers crossed, the Phightin’ Philsszz. Although without the firepower of C. Utley and J. Werth this time, those four aces (the Lay-Down-the-Law Firm of Halladay, Lee, Oswalt & Hamels; J. Blanton Junior Counsel) are really going to have to pitch a lot of 1-nil victories. And we never count out the Bravos, especially with Daniel J. Travanti-Uggla now on the squad.

As always, we root for good baseball! See you at the stadium!
