Major League Baseball withdrawal is real. And it hurts so bad we can’t believe we’re gonna be able to make it another 48 hrs. or so before we fall off the wagon again. Hold us! It’s so cold in here! We’re shivering.
Anyway, good time to catch-up on the reading, with the books on the nightstand currently including: An African History of Africa; The Holocaust: An Unfinished History; The AI Con: How To Fight Big Tech’s Hype and Create the Future We Want; Balthazar (Book 2 of The Alexandria Quartet); Temporary Kings (Book 11 of A Dance to the Music of Time).
That last one is part of a now yearlong slow-reading of the 12-book series; somehow we fell-in with a Twitter-now-Bluesky gang that has been slow-reading some real brain-blasters over the past five years or so. And then tomorrow, this selfsame gang is going to begin a deliberate & patient perusal of Madame Bovary.
