Up for The Cup!

Who ya’ got?

You know that as honorary La-La Land Los Kings fans, we cannot abide any sort of support for The Oil. We are hardly Fla. Panthers enthusiasts, either, though; however, given the general Bond Villain tendencies of Messrs. McJesus, Draisaitl & C. Perry, especially, again, against our adopted Los Kings, we cannot help but throw-in with the South Floridians. Besides, their netminder, the great Sergei Bobrovsky, was, once upon a time, stopping shots as a Philalala Flyer! Bygone days!

Even better, listening to the local radio makes the Finals even more exciting. As often as possible, we steer clear of the corporatized, the homogeneous — no nat’l. TV commentators for us, and their need to hype-up both sides. Instead, the Florida Panthers radio broadcast is where we are going for our play-by-play & color, because, really, where else are you gonna hear the announcer say, ‘AND WHEN YOU NEED A GOAL, YOU CALL CARTER VERHAEGE!’

Indeed, try to listen to as many local sports broadcasts as you can. The bonus is you also get the regional radio commercials, like for the El Car Wash in the Metro Miami area, or else some pipefitters union or any city’s best ambulance-chasing accident attorney!

Two live-longshot-type opportunities toward the end of your Assiniboia card tonight…

At the first intermission tonight of Game 1 of your 2025 Stanley Cup Final, it’s your Florida Panthers leading the diabolical Oil, 2-1.
