January 6 already. One year since the tourists showed up at the U.S. Capitol and did typical touristy things like beat people up and smash windows and break into private offices.
When’s the last time you saw visitors to DisneyWorld, Disneyland or Universal Studios do touristy stuff like that? It happens, surely, but do they organize themselves beforehand? We have big tourist groups from China and Europe and all over the world coming to La-La Land daily. They visit The Grove, the Farmers Market, Hollywood Boulevard, you name it, and the next time they all plan to be rowdy and disrupt the natural order of things via violence, well, that will be the first time.
So, then, this guy named Pete Navarro Sr. What should we listen to when he talks at your television set and says things about Theo Cruise Jr. & Linseed Graham CRACKER? What should be tuning our ears toward, which words? When Don Trump SuperSenior is asking people to find him some 11,000 votes, then what? The tapes exist! Just a joke, merely touristy types of things, these requests?
It’s insane to think this kind of American democracy will last any forever length of time. The scope of history from other places suggests as much. The Romans fell, the Third Reich never outlived its teens, Marcos, Pol Pot went away, were replaced by more popular forms of rule, then were replaced in turn by the next wave of strongmen.
Personally, we would not like to live in a country in which white-minority, theocratic fascist rule was the order of things. Not being white, not being particularly organized-religious, not being attuned to a rule of lawlessness in which the whims of any single leader or neighbors might lead us to lose life or limb without the perpetrator having to be held to account — no, sir; no, thanks. And so far, so good, we are not living in a white-minority, theocratic fascist country — yet.
But some people want that. They want to deport you even if you were born in this country under the rule of law and, at that time, the U.S. Constitution just because you have a darker skin tone or sloping, almond-shape eyes and bone-straight black hair. They want you to get the hell out because you don’t worship at the altar of Their Deity.
We normally like to say ’best wishes’ when we are able. But in this case we cannot do that. No best wishes to the people who would like the white-minority, theocratic fascist rule. For one, we weren’t born into your scheme, and, for another, and even better, if we were, we surely would disavow it.
As for the racing from yesterday, no good, Chollie, no good. You think you’d get one good price in there from nine selected races, but they all paid single-digit win mutuels. Hard to do! So much for contentiousness there; the public was too good.
Undaunted, we will look for better guidance today from Allah & Buddha & Shiva & Yahweh & Jehovah & Higher Power & all those spiritual legends and entities. Surely we cannot do it ourselves. Delta 7, Fair Grounds 8, Turf Paradise 5 are the fingers-crossed opportunities now.
