No good ones for your first day of Thoroughbred-only racing at Los Alamitos.

East of the O.C., a few good ones were among the touted. But before we get to those, a grim reminder that more than a few of them will run with honour without winning.

Like in the opener at Lone Star. Sole-touted Soul Stripper, 12-1 on your morning line and 30-1 in real life, nearly did it. She actually made the lead in the stretch before yielding by a dirty neck. Oh, well. Soul Stripper was the only LifeLiner Speed Column qualifier in your field. Next time!

Now for a few touted winners. Touted!

Over in your third race at Delpark in idyllic Stanton, Del., Rick the Bartender was the only horsey recommended. Rick the Bartender was fourth-choice on your conventional V6 Betting Line, 6-1 Fair Odds. At 8-1 on the morning line and an OK 84 in the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis, Rick the Bartender was neglected on the toteboard, 50¢ (fitty!) shy of an even 20-1.

Rick the Bartender won by three parts of a length at $41-even up top.

Over to the shiny new BelTerra Park now for its seventh. Sole-touted Risky Romance — get those gamma globulin shots updated! — got his dirty nose up in time, truly the thinnest of nostrils. Risky Romance, 15-1 on your morning line and a nice, round 40-1 in actuality, paid $82-even straight.

Risky Romance was neglected on the conventional V6 Betting Line in a race that had no clear consensus. However, Risky Romance did well enough on your LifeLiner Speed Column analysis.

Ellis Park opened yesterday, and Bonkersmate Cara’s Nay Nay (however that means) took Race 7 at a $24.40 win mutuel.

Cara’s Nay Nay, 12-1 on your morning line, was not regarded highly by your conventional V6 Betting Line. However, she tied for top honours in the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis. The horse who tied Cara’s Nay Nay for top honours in the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis ran second at 3½-1, and your exacta paid $135.20. The 2-1 fave ran third, also LifeLiner Speed Column-sanctioned, and the trizacta returned $488.40 (for $2).

As always, hope you had ’em!

WMF Report:

Early
Arapahoe 6f
Assiniboia 6f
BelTerra 6f, 1m
Emerald 6f, 6½f
Indiana 6f
Louisiana 5½f
Northlands 6f
PennNat 6f
Prairie 6f
Thistle 1m

Rally
Arlington @1m (T)

Early

Nocturnal Submission: Sifting through the wreckage…

Thank you.
