Yesterday’s Activity<\/strong>: As always, Welcome to The Home of The Runner-Up Finish, this time nearly led by top-touted Slew’s Brew in the last race at the Aqueduct. <\/p>\n

Slew’s Brew was disregarded on the conventional V6 Betting Line, which itself shaped the race as an entirely wide-open event. Moreover, the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis for the race topped out at 68 — 68! One of those two 68s was Slew’s Brew.<\/p>\n

OK, OK. You know how we have told you about the vaunted Triple Threat Horseys. Uh-oh. Well, those races tend to be quite predictable — your Triple Threat Horsey generally shows up and contests the race at some stage, typically to the wire. <\/p>\n

Now, here’s the other end of the predictive spectrum. If your Triple Threat Horseys are aligned toward the same end as ‘Death’, ‘Taxes’, ‘Any Team Other Than The Chicago Baseball Cubs Winning a Particular Year’s World Serious’, then the races in which none of the doomed horseys can even get past the 60s (‘groovy, man! far out!’) on the LifeLiner Speed Column Analysis suggests the opposite: ping-pong-ball-dynamics randomness, labeled under ‘Lady ga-GA’s Wardrobe on Any Given Day’, ‘Monkeys Pounding Typewriters’ and, of course, ‘Monkeys Pounding on Typewriters to Generate Today’s Chosen Subject Matter Appearing on This Here HiddenEntries<\/i> Web Log’ — in other words, predictably unpredictable!<\/p>\n

So here’s Race 9 at the Aqueduct yesterday, and back to Slew’s Brew, 20-1 on the morning line and 58-1 in real life, but OK (well, relatively less awful) on the LifeLiner Speed Column Analysis. <\/p>\n

Damn if Slew’s Brew didn’t run an honourable race! Hell, if he had not been cursed with hanger-type genes, he very well might have not been content to run shoulder-to-shoulder with the eventual winner; he might have ended up fighting to get his head in front.<\/p>\n

But Slew’s Brew did not, losing by a grudging dirty neck, 58-1. Oh, well.<\/p>\n

It looks like the saver exacta got hit hard, though, paying just $307. After all, this was 5-1 over 58-1 in a 10-horse field, with none of the top four wagering choices even getting into the exacta. Somebody saved this exacta hard. Somebody.<\/p>\n

So, now you know. Triple Threat Horsey represents reasonably predictable and formful race. On the other hoof, horrendous LifeLiner Speed Column Analysis for the entire field, watch the big prices light up the toteboard, mainly. Unless somebody is saving those exactas hard.<\/p>\n
