How’s Aqueduct 7 for yourself?

Spinit to Winit was our sole-touted horsey from that race, 10-1 on the morning line and 11-1 when the bell rang. As the second-longest shot on the board, Spinit to Winit had to settle for place-horse honours while finishing just under 5 lengths behind the 17-10 winning fave.

Much more heart- and gutwrenching was Race 1 at the Lone Star Park. In it, Mula Boss was top-touted and Boston Humor was the lone Bonkersmate; those two horseys were touted.

Mula Boss was top of the V6 Betting Line at Fair Odds of 3½-1 and second-best (of the dozen entered) on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis. Mula Boss was 20-1 on the morning line and better than twice that in real life: 44-1. Boston Humor, morning line 12-1, final odds 10-1, was on top of the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis.

Mula Boss closed well in a runner-up effort, beaten a dirty neck by the 2-1 fave. Boston Humor ran third. How long, o lord, how long?

Not that long, it turned out. Five races down the road, Race 6 at the Lone Star, found Bonkersmate Cajun Don loading into the starting gate.

Cajun Don was not highly regarded by the Betting Line in a contentious race; however, Cajun Don was solid in terms of his LifeLiner Speed Column analysis, and at 40½-1 in the wagering, twice-higher than his 20-1 morning line, Cajun Don was in with a shout.

Another race, another closer, and Cajun Don ran like crazy at the end, losing by 1 shrinking length while defeating nine others in the 11-horse field. That was quite honourable of him.

But this time, the winner was also OK on LifeLiner Speed, and the saver exacta, 8-1 over 40-1 in an 11-horse field, came back $767.60, for $2. The show-horse was your 17-10 fave and also good enough on LifeLiner, with the trizacta returning $2,125.20, again for $2. The fourth-place runner was the top of the LifeLiner Speed Column, and the super-duper paid a jackpot $11,758, also for $2.

Another runner-up finish was amply rewarded, this time in the fifth at Oaklawn. Bonkersmate Lemon Juice was 12-1 on the morning line and allowed to rise to 21-1 in the actual betting. Lemon Juice secured his Bonkersmate status by finishing first among the horseys in the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis.

Lemon Juice ran with some distinction, finishing second 1¾-lengths behind the winner. That winner was the 4½-1 third-choice who also was top of the V6 Betting Line and more than qualified on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis. This saver exacta had a $283 payoff. The third-place finisher was OK on LifeLiner Speed, too, and the triactor was worth $1,160, this time for a single dollar. (Sorry, but no good on the fourth-place runner. Regretsz!)

Winners now: Kee 6 ($22-even), LS 9 ($15.40), Tam 8 ($19.20), Tam 10 ($31.20).

As always, hope you had ’em!

WMF Report:

Early
Aqueduct 6f
Beulah 5½f, 6f
Chas.
