Boo on you, Hollypark (Proper)!

If you also felt gipped-out by the last nonevents over at Inglewood, Calif., from yesterday, we attempt to compensate with some insane perspectives on the racing at Beulah and Pharx.

They say that Southern Californians don’t know how to drive when it rains. This is largely correct. So when it comes to racing during inclement weather, we should really turn to places such as Grove City and Cornwells Heights, where they understand the special needs of winter racing. Slush, sleet, muck, snow, blizzards — nothing can faze these stalwart ovals Back East!

Boo on you, PolyCushion @ Hollypark (Improper). Boo on the shotgun wedding of Southern California racing to synthetic surfaces! Horses deserve safety, but bettors butter their bread! Boo on Southern California!

We root for good jurisdictions such as South Florida and Kentucky. Louisiana racing also forces no such shotgun marriages! Indiana racing has been getting better, too! Have you seen those purses over at the Hoosier?!

Boo on synthetics. Boo on ramming it down the players. The supposed “consistent” surface was just a gimmick. Spray some Teflon on the horses’ hooves! Get a computer to play Jeopardy! AstroTurf, PolyCushion, Aspartame, digital audio…nothing is better than real grass, real dirt, real sugar, real pops and ticks sparking from the union of stylus on vinyl!

Boo! Merry xmas!

At any rate, the only thing crazier than the above rant will be the following mentally feeble race-selections for Beulah and Pharx. Long prices only! But at least they know how to conduct racing when it’s not sunny and 75!

Beulah, Race 6
Got to give it up for 20-1 morning-line shot #8 Wynn a Tour. Also for #3 Cinnamon Cowboy. Bonkers call-shot for #5 Malibu Harbor, 10-1 on your morning line.

Beulah, Race 9
#3 Monetary Dreamer is the top mark this time.
