Yesterday’s Activity<\/strong>: Back-to-back jackers at the Ellis Park now. On Saturday it was a King of the NetCapper Bullies special, courtesy of Bonkersmate Kitchenman, 15-1 on the morning line and 13-1 at the off. That resulted in a $28.80 win mutuel, with the runner-up and show-horse spots being accounted for by LifeLiner qualifiers; the exacta with the 13-10 fave on the bottom was worth $113.60 (for $2), and the trifecta paid $454 (also for $2).<\/p>\n

Never, ever have had a bad time touting the great Louisiana-based horsey named UNITAS. UNITAS. It figures, doesn’t it? When we tout UNITAS, he finds a way to hit paydirt at rich odds. So it was last night at the Evangeline in Race 8: $20.20 well-visible in foresight as in hindsight. How many days in a row can we include those two words in the commentary? ONLY THE SHADOW KNOWS!
