A couple of post-bedtime issues to report from last night\u2019s (Friday\u2019s) late action now: at Chas. Town, W. Va.,<\/strong> your feature Race 11<\/strong>, the biggest race of the meet, was won by #2 Willy D\u2019s<\/strong> (.141 Win Prob \/ 6.09-1 Fair Odds \/ 7.51-1 Premium Odds) at $16.40<\/strong>; at Edmonton, Alb.<\/strong>, Race 6<\/strong> went to #3 Moonlight Courage<\/strong> (.277 \/ 2.61 \/ 3.33) at $9.50<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now to today (Saturday), which provided the following outcomes…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In your Zinzinnati opener<\/strong>, #4 Joia Rara<\/strong> (.246 \/ 3.07 \/ 4.08) was first to the wire at 7-1 but had company there, paying $6.40<\/strong> in a dead heat for the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#4 Proof He Goes<\/strong> (.210 \/ 3.76 \/ 4.43) went to the winner\u2019s circle in Del Mar, Calif.\u2019s, Race 5<\/strong> at $10-even<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over to Collinsville, Ill.<\/strong>, for #5 Veronicaforthewin<\/strong> (.471 \/ 1.12 \/ 1.42) running to that billing in scintillating five-horse affair in Race 3<\/strong> at $5.20<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Opening Day at Franklin, Ky.<\/strong>, always a wild-and-wooly meet, with Race 7<\/strong> today going to #9 In Our Time<\/strong> (.169 \/ 4.92 \/ 5.92), who won it for Melvyn Bragg at $13.04<\/strong>. In the next race<\/strong> there, #1 Jas<\/strong> (.129 \/ 6.75 \/ 8.30) said yes to the upset at $22.20<\/strong>; your winning $186.20 daily double<\/strong> had a premium price of $128.71. As well, your winning $202.86 exacta<\/strong> was completed by #10 Kurita\u2019s Folly<\/strong> (.120 \/ 7.33 \/ 9.00), with the premium price on that comboa (comboa!) being $166-even.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It took all afternoon but your Oceanport, N.J.<\/strong>, Race 9 finale<\/strong> had #9 Khetam<\/strong> (.194 \/ 4.15 \/ 5.03) sealed the card in fine Levantine fashion at $26-even<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It took nearly the entire card at Saratoga Spgs., N.Y.<\/strong>, but at least it counted big, with #2 Leading Change (.142 \/ 6.04 \/ 7.45)<\/strong> taking the premier race of the meet there, Race 13<\/strong> on this card, at $22.76<\/strong>; completing your winning $156.16 exacta<\/strong> was #3 Napoleon Solo<\/strong> (.133 \/ 6.52 \/ 8.02), with the premium price on that comboa (comboa!) being $134.39.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A warm welcome to our friends in the Free State of Maryland, which is hosting its state fair at Timonium<\/strong> right now; in Race 6<\/strong> there, it was #1 Aztec<\/strong> (.253 \/ 2.95 \/ 3.62) getting revenge for Moctezuma II at $10.80<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
