Yea, verily, Engerland v. Italia this afternoon. It will be a war of attrition. Which team will “out-negative” the other, sort of like which of the two hangers will hang least down the final 70 yards.<\/p>\n

On the one hoof, we have Italia, masters of the ultimate don’t-come-out-of-your-shell-game, catenaccio<\/em>, whereby the 10 outfield players do their best impression of pretending to be a bus parked in front of their own goal. <\/p>\n

Then we have Engerland, hardly a free-flowing XI in its own right, but with perhaps the best back 5 in the tourney thus far.<\/p>\n
