Hey! How was that eclipse experience for yourself?<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Only a partial, 58-percent-level eclipse over here in Southern California, way-wide left (read: west) of the infamous Path of Totality. Through our NASA-approved viewing apparatus, we had an immediate perception of the apparent occlusion of the sun by the moon: Dennis Rodman, followed quickly by Ice Spice. The same way people look for patterns or likenesses of real-world images among the fluffy-white high clouds against a pale blue sky, so it was that the Dennis Rodman and Ice Spice resemblances came to us. A couple of post-press-time connections to report from yesterday\u2019s (Sunday<\/strong>\u2019s) late action: At Arcadia, Calif.<\/strong>, on Closing Day, #3 Satellite Heart <\/strong>(.331 Win Prob \/ 2.02-1 Fair Odds \/ 2.63-1 Premium Odds) won Race 6<\/strong> for \u2014 who else? \u2014 The Moon (!) at $9.60<\/strong>. Then in the Race 11<\/strong> finale for your meet, #5 Ngannou<\/strong> (.555 \/ 0.80 \/ 1.16) won it for Cameroonian mixed-martial-arts fighters the world over at $4.40<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everything in-play, and still more than a few races to be run. Yet all there is to show for it is the $18.40 exacta<\/strong> in Race 2<\/strong> from Youngstown, Ohio<\/strong>; #6 David\u2019s Gem<\/strong> (.400 \/ 1.50 \/ 2.00) and #2 Mutual Confidence<\/strong> (.278 \/ 2.60 \/ 3.32) were the one-two finishers there, and the premium price on their comboa (comboa!) was $17.28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
