You don\u2019t need a bodybuilder physique to excel at tennis; in fact, lugging around all that extra musculature might be a little tiring when you get to that fifth-set tiebreak. The skinny-legged (below the knees, anyway) guys do best, just like how Koobay Brian (R.I.P.) & Mike Jordan Sr. used to soar through the air. And while the pecs and biceps don\u2019t have to be remarkable, the chassis must be classy! You want that oversize, drum-tight gluteus maximus to be able to generate that ferocious first-step explosiveness necessary to covering the court \u2014 pickleballers don\u2019t need it, nor do golfers. But, as you can see in today\u2019s lede snap, Carlos Alcaraz here, age 20, is one of the top two male tennis players in the world because of his enviable rear-end. \u00a1Vamos, Carlitos!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The lede snap was taken a couple of days ago at Tennis Paradise (pretty similar to Turf Paradise, yeah?!) in Indian Wells, Calif. It\u2019s always an experience to go to the desert, about 2hrs., 15mins. by automobile from La-La Land, to watch these elite athletes work their magic for their biggest fans. And, speaking of the most athletic bums we\u2019ve seen at this tournament in past years, the top honor must be reserved for the now-retired Serena Williams Sr.; if she had been a hoopballer instead, she would have been able to box-out any opponents, regardless of gender. Pec-sized glutes there, if the pecs belonged to Superman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for today (Saturday<\/strong>), it was Tampa, Laurel, Aqueduct, Fair Grounds, Santa Anita, Golden Gate & Turfway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting at Laurel, Md.<\/strong>, where it was #4 Edester<\/strong> (.349 \/ 1.87 \/ 2.44) winning Race 5<\/strong> for Edward & Esther at $8.40<\/strong>. Then in the finale<\/strong>, #3 R B\u2019s Big Moment<\/strong> (.171 \/ 4.85 \/ 7.19) was large & in-charge at $27-even<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To Ozone Park, N.Y.<\/strong>, now, for Race 4<\/strong>; in it, #6 Ouster<\/strong> (.338 \/ 1.96 \/ 2.55) stayed in it to win it at $7.30<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the New Orleans<\/strong> opener<\/strong>, #6 Fitts N Starts<\/strong> (.261 \/ 2.83 \/ 3.60) was nonetheless sufficiently smooth to win at $16.20<\/strong>. Next race<\/strong> there, #1 Move It Baby<\/strong> (.186 \/ 4.38 \/ 6.53) ran to that billing at $28-even<\/strong>; your winning $169.20 daily double<\/strong> had a premium price of $69.27. In Race 7<\/strong>, #10 Helen\u2019s Little Sis<\/strong> (.386 \/ 1.59 \/ 2.11) was the best of the experienceds in a field lousy with first-timers \u2014 sorry not sorry! Completing your winning $49-even exacta<\/strong> was #5 Plum Tricky<\/strong> (.210 \/ 3.76 \/ 5.67), with the premium price on that comboa (comboa!) being $28.14. In the finale<\/strong>, #7 Oak Hill Lg<\/strong> (.193 \/ 4.18 \/ 5.22) also was all hickory at $13.20<\/strong>; completing your winning $181.20 exacta<\/strong> was #4 Blackteca<\/strong> (.126 \/ 6.94 \/ 10.11), with the premium price on that comboa (comboa!) being $115.98.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
