Happy Winter Solstice! Could be Earth’s last!<\/p>\n

Those blasted Mayans! No wonder NASA is looking for alternate Earths right about now. If those ancient Amerinds are correct with their calculations, we all have about 364 days and counting until Kingdom Come. Evacuate now! Cazart!<\/p>\n

At any rate, our first presenter this fine day is none other than the esteemed One-Eyed Pug. She is about to cross off one of the things on her Bucket List by realizing her longstanding dream of contributing a post to this here Weblog. Here she is…<\/p>\n

“Good morning!”<\/p>\n

“Today we are going to concoct a holiday libation, eggnog. Pretty good diction for a canine, huh?<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

“First, start with a good eggnog. My masters, they’re decent people, but a little lazy. So instead of the homemade eggnog, rich with raw egg yolk, full heavy cream and a frothy egg-white topping, they go to Ralphs and buy this stuff. Pretty good, but it’s no Alton Brown<\/a> vintage.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

“Next, get out the important ingredient: the hooch! Again, I wish to report that my masters are decent people. But they’re a little on the cheap side. After they pay out for my Eukanuba, there’s not too much left over. So instead of something good like Maker’s Mark<\/a>, they settle for rotgut like Early Times or Jim Beam. <\/p>\n

“Now, if you’re in a moderate state of mind, one shot will do; however, a bad day at the races may necessitate a double. Skol!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

“Combine the store-bought eggnog, about 8 oz., and the rotgut and shake well. Pour into your favourite highball glass. Bottoms up!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

“Arf! Nummy!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

“Hic! Arf! Bye-bye! I’ll be snoring extra loud tonight! Best wishes for a Happy Hanukkah & Merry Christmas! Hic! Arf!”<\/p>\n
