La-La Land&rsquo;s Dustin Brown with the hat-trick-plus-one, including the overtime gamewinner, last night at the arena in DTLA; the Kings beat Minn., 5-4. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>He&rsquo;ll always be THE CAPTAIN because of this: We were on an East Coast roadtrip with the team in Feb. 2016, visiting Madison Sq. Garden &#038; Barclays Centre (but not Prudential in Newark). The game against the Rangers was already over, and we were just walking around midtown, and we decided to enter our hotel via the revolving doors in the back. As we were going through, there was a little boy wearing a &lsquo;GKG&rsquo; ski-cap; so we said, &lsquo;GKG&rsquo; and next thing we know, behind the little boy is a man and you know who the man is? YES, IT&rsquo;s THE CAPTAIN (at that time indeed officially THE CAPTAIN) No. 23, Dustin Brown of your La-La Land Kings. He was sneaking out the back revolving doors with his family into a waiting SUV rather than risk being seen out front at the main entrance on E. 42nd. So as we all went through the revolving door into the hotel, we revolved back out into the cold air of the back alley and asked if we could have pictures with THE CAPTAIN. Though he was in a hurry to get his family over to the hotel in Newark for the next game, he kindly obliged us for the snapshots.
