We do not read DRF or watch TVG or look at the collective genius of the hive-mind at the Tempo Edge watercooler, either. As fellow contemplatives, we strive to attain your accomplishments, if not your beauty, despite similarly turning away from so many fine spectacles. <\/p>\n<p>Sincerely,<\/p>\n<p>The Boys in The Back Room<\/em><\/p>\n<p>All right then, sheeple! Let&rsquo;s see what is going on in the Word of Thoroughbred Horse Race Handicapping &#038; Wagering in North America today.<\/p>\n<p>Aha! There&rsquo;s a Graded stakes this evening over at the <strong>Presque<\/strong> in Erie, Penna., in the Rust Belt of &rsquo;murrika. For all the afflicted and addicted, for all those who are pale and in jail (or one step away), it looks to be a contentious affair now, this <strong>Race 5<\/strong>, with outsider &mdash; both figurative and literal! &mdash; <strong>#11 Cavalia<\/strong> having a cheap thrill on the lead for however long that lasts; and that might not be long enough, given the WMF 27 over the notoriously early-speed-sapping synthetic at 6&frac12;f. Unfortunately, all the worthy longshots reside in that similar running-style neighborhood, toward the lead, which gives another outsider &mdash; a literal outsider, not a figurative one &mdash; <strong>#12 Bar of Gold<\/strong> a fine opportunity to do some quality, victorious hoofing in the straight. That&rsquo;s the Shailene Woodley version of it, anyway, without any outside influence on our reckoning. <\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, there&rsquo;s some crazy track-bias plays on the early end of proceedings at evening-time tracks, led &mdash; literally! &mdash; by the humdingers in the sprint races at <strong>Hazel<\/strong> and <strong>Mountain<\/strong>. In <strong>Race 4<\/strong> <strong>at the latter<\/strong>, <strong>#7 Onejump<\/strong> looks to run to that billing one jump from the gate, controlling the running and improving his position from there; the obvious closer is the <strong>#4 Onlyattheshoe<\/strong>. In <strong>Race 7 at the former<\/strong>, part-of-entry <strong>#1 Unlikely Scenario<\/strong> is more than likely to make the front, as long as he remains in the field; otherwise, the <strong>#5 Smitteninthemitten<\/strong> and <strong>#6 Big Cat&rsquo;s Hat<\/strong> will duke it out from the get-go; either way, the &rsquo;Cat will be ready to be a ferocious feline in the lane.<\/p>\n<p>Already gone is <strong>Delpark 7<\/strong>, one of those crazy open-claiming races on the turf. After some late-scratches, the remaining low-odds horse on your morning line was one of those buried-type favorites: seventh (of 10) on the Betting Line, sixth on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis, same ranking on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis. The eventual winner <strong>Great Plan<\/strong> (!) was a second-best 91 on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis, and his mutuel was $65.20 up top. <\/p>\n<p>Did you have him? Well, that&rsquo;s good!
