Good work.

Belterra (2/1) — A contentious Race 8 found Bucket Beat among the contenders via his 86 on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis; he held on to dead-heat for the win at 11-1 on the toteboard, $12.60 in real life. Good work.

Canterbury (0/0) — Twins beat host Seattle, 5-4; Robbie Grossman had a 2-run HR in the win.

Churchill (2/1) — Race 4 was borderline contentious, or for certain headed by a tepid top pick with not much behind him. At any rate, Above the Bear was one of ’em Dual Qualifier (82, 87) horses. Above the Bar went gate-to-wire to win by a clean neck at $44.60. Good work.

Emerald (3/1½) — The opener was won by debutante Ila Veiw, straight-up V6 top pick at Fair Odds of 6-1, so Old-School Champeens were going to do OK even though there was no real connection-line readout backing for ’Veiw; she paid $38.40, half a get at best. In Race 3, Oh Marvelous Me (!), another firster, was in a contentious lineup but with solid connection-line readout support of 21pc/12pc/28pc; he won by 3½ at $21.20 up top. Good work.

Golden Gate (0/0) — See Arapahoe commentary.

Gulf (3/1) — Publicly touted Starship Amanda, Dual Qualifier (87, 89) in a contentious Race 7, rallied a little to win by a clean neck over publicly touted Bonkersmate Lil Miss Smarty K, 47-1. Yeah. No! The win mutuel on ’Amanda was $23.80 — yeah! But the win mutuel on ’Smarty would have been $97.40 — no! Either way, the publicly touted Bonkers Box perfecta paid $661 for $2. Good work.

Hastings (1/1) — Our Triple Charm took the fifth at an unimpeachable $38.40; High-Octane Chancers, Old-School Champeens and Progressive-Minded Eggheads all had a run on him: he had a field-best 3½-1 Fair Odds on a contentious Betting Line, plus another field-best 88 on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis. ’Charm had the gate-to-wire score by 1¼. Good work.

Los Alamitos (1/1) — Awe Gee took the noncontentious opener at $26-straight. She had the field-best 94 on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis and pretty much was shadowed on the lead all the way around before prevailing by a clean nose. Good work.

Lone Star (1/1) — Publicly touted Kantankerous Baby, a first-time starter atop the V6 Betting Line and with a good-enough connection-line readout of 11pc/11pc/21pc, won by 5 at $20-even. Good work.

Mountain (1/0) — Fire torches Maryland Hts. home.

Monmouth (2/0) — 1 killed in motorcycle crash on Garden State Parkway near Toms River.

Keystone (0/0) — See Arlington commentary.

Presque (2/0) — 4-year-old starts car fire.

Pimlico (2/2) — Race 5 had Hideaway Moon barely qualifying via a mere 80 on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis in a noncontentious race. Not much to go on, but High-Octane Chancers had the $26.60 win mutuel. In Race 7, Mr. Watanabe Too had too-low morning-line odds (6-1) for a public tout, but the race was contentious, and ’Watanabe was a Dual Qualifier (99, 87). He won by a clean neck at $29.20. Good work.

Prairie (1/0) — Façade of Boone Co. She raced forwardly to score by 3 parts of a length. In Race 9, debuting Courtly Pleasure was also atop the V6 Betting Line, Fair Odds of 9-5, and with good connection-line readout backing of 20pc/18pc/30pc. He won by a clean head at $23.40.
