The race was contentious, and Mutasaawy tiptoed into the reckoning via a just-good-enough 82 on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Mahoning (1\/&frac12;)<\/strong> &mdash; Race 3 was a gift for the Old-School Champeens: contentious race, and Advanced Degree was there at Fair Odds of 5-1, but no LifeLiner backing to be found. &rsquo;Degree went gate-to-wire to win by a clean neck at $71.20-straight. Hoo-boy. Good job, Old-School Champeens.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Oaklawn (5\/3&frac12;)<\/strong> &mdash; The first three were all defensible via the LifeLiner Columns. In Race 5, So Kitten took the fifth at an unimpeachable $21.60; &rsquo;Kitten was a Dual Qualifier (99, 81), though the race was not contentious. In Race 7, publicly touted Bonita Cat came through at $38.40 in a contentious affair; &rsquo;Bonita had the 85 on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis, and rallied to her complete LifeLiner characterization (60-66-85), winning by a clean neck. In Race 8, Storm Advisory, with a forlorn 81 on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis, was good enough for High-Octane Chancers in a noncontentious race; &rsquo;Storm paid $28.20. In Race 10, half a get to Gavar, 14&frac12;-1 winner but taken down for interference; Gavar was one for the Old-School Champeens, same as the aforementioned winner at Mahoning, no LifeLiner, but straightforward on the Betting Line in a contentious race. Regrets on the DQ.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PennNat (0\/0)<\/strong> &mdash; Philalala Flyers continue their miraculous late-season resurrection, defeating visiting Ottawa, 3-2; Wayne Simmonds scored his 27th and 28th goals of the season for the winners. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Keystone (0\/0)<\/strong> &mdash; Philanova routs Oklahoma in a National Semifinal Game of the NCAA men&rsquo;s hoopball tournament at Houston, 95-51; Josh Hart scored 23 for the Wildcats. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Santa Anita (0\/0)<\/strong> &mdash; La-La Land Kings surrender 2 3rd period goals in a 3-2 loss to visiting Dallas; Jeff Carter scored his 23rd goal of the season for the losers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunland (2\/1)<\/strong> &mdash; Race 6 went to Atillas Gift, $23.60; &rsquo;Atillas had a sharp 91 on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis in a noncontentious race, and accordingly went gate-to-wire to win by half a length.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tampa (1\/0)<\/strong> &mdash; Lightning strike for a 3-1 home win against New Jersey; Victor Hedman had a goal and an assist for Tampa Bay.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Turfway (4\/1)<\/strong> &mdash; Publicly touted He&rsquo;ll Pay won Race 8 at $27.60; &rsquo; Pay was one of &rsquo;em Best of All Possible Worlds-type horseys, good for every sort of player, from the Old-School Champeens, Reactionary Fundamentalists, Progressive LifeLiner Radicals and, of course, High-Octane Chancers. Similar to what went on with the Los Alamitos issue. N.B.
