We’ll see. One race later<\/strong> there, on the other hoof, it should be good for the chalky #3 Street of Gold<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Wildly contentious race, plus the morning-line fave, who wound up second in this race, was nowhere near the top of either the Betting Line nor the LifeLiner Speed or LifeLiner Spread Column analyses. Aptly named winner Middle of Winter, $31.80, had an OK 83 on LifeLiner Speed. Good enough.<\/p>\n

Delta (1\/0)<\/strong> — <\/p>\n

Fair Grounds (1\/1)<\/strong> — Accessible to both kinds of players: the Old-School Betting-Line adherents and the New-School LifeLiner avant-gardists. For the former, this Race 5 surprise, Kayne’spotofgold, had Fair Odds of 3-1 in a contentious-race dynamic; easy-to-spot. For the latter, the contentious-race shape was valid, plus ’Kayne had an 84 in the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis, second-best in the field. No public tout forthcoming, though, given ’Kayne’s low 5-1 morning-line odds. Oh, well. ’Kayne paid $22.40 up top.<\/p>\n

Golden Gate (1\/0)<\/strong> — <\/p>\n

Gulf (3\/½)<\/strong> — Race 7 winner Shiawassee was a firster in a contentious race, and her connection-line readout (16pc\/16pc\/11pc) qualified her for contender status; however, the low placement on the overall Betting Line forbade a public tout. Sorry. Maybe the High-Octane Chancers were able to do something better.<\/p>\n

Sam Houston (1\/0)<\/strong> — <\/p>\n

Los Alamitos (1\/0)<\/strong> — <\/p>\n

Oaklawn (1\/1)<\/strong> — Bob’s Gone Wild took Race 6 at $24.40. The race was not contentious (Fair Odds on top pick of 2½-1, compared with Fair Odds of 5-1 on the next horse), but ’Bob had the second-best rating in the LifeLiner Spread Column, 90. If you could get past that the Betting Line was not calling this a contentious race, you had a shot.<\/p>\n

Santa Anita (2\/0)<\/strong> — <\/p>\n

Tampa (5\/2) <\/strong> — Race 4 found Dragon Queen coming in at $23.60. The race was contentious, and ’Dragon had a just-in-time 80 in the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis. In Race 9, Creaky Cricket was the $25-even upsetter. This race was not contentious (vis-à-vis the Betting Line, anyway), but ’Cricket was tops in the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis, 92. <\/p>\n

Turfway (1\/½)<\/strong> — Same scenario as the horse in the Gulf commentary above. Red Hot Suzy paid $32.60 in the finale.<\/p>\n
