One of those melancholy album-enders these guys were famous for. Another good one for these times.
Disaster at Oaklawn on the public page. More woes.
However, better yesterday at Turfway, where Race 5, 6 & 7 were recommended by this here Web log and featured OK payoffs.
To wit, Race 5 at Turfway was won by #5 Haig Point, third-listed on BestLine at Fair Odds of 7.47-1 and at Premium Odds of 10.86-1. Haig Point satisfied the playability requirement at actual odds of 20-1, winning by a clean nose and returning $42.60 up top. There was one other qualifying win-overlay wager in that one.
In Race 6 there were three contenders, two of whom were playable in the win pool. No dice as the best-finishing of that duo, #3 Ceduna, ran third, beaten a length-and-a-quarter at 7-1.
In Race 7 we had four contenders, two of which were OK to play: #6 Giant Odds (Fair Odds of 7.33-1, Premium Odds of 10.67-1, Actual Odds of 11.90-1) and #10 Droppin G’s (5.41-1, 7.97-1, 8.40-1). The latter won by a clean half-length and paid $18.80.
Today we have many different options on a springlike (we open the windows here in La-La Land and the jasmine is already perceptible olfactorily! but watch out for your allergies!) Friday, so here goes with Golden Gate 7, Oaklawn 9, Santa Anita 9. Take care out there.
