HDWHelper
PLEASE CAREFULLY READ THIS ENTIRE PAGE!
The HDWHelper program is intended for use by All-In-One V5 users who have accounts with the Handicapper's Data Warehouse download service. Although it can be used on any Windows system, it's main purpose is to make life easier for users running Windows XP since it not only extracts downloaded ZIP files and puts them in the DATA directory, it also processes and merges the AIO track models.
Installation
Click HERE to download the installer, named setuphh.exe, which you must run to install the actual program. It's big - because it contains it's own Java runtime to insure it will work on all versions of Windows, however the actual program which is installed takes less disk space.
It is reccommended that you have your browser save the program to disk, quit your browser and run the downloaded program. Remember, this is the INSTALLER program which will install HDWHelper onto your hard disk. once you have successfully installed HDWHelper you can discard the installer program.
Program Operation
The first time you run HDWHelper, you should first click on the "Settings" tab, type in your HDW user name and password and click the "set" button. If you have installed All-In-One in a special place on your hard drive (someplace other than C:\AllV5) click the "select" button and select the location of the All-In-One program directory.
There are basically 3 steps you need to perform.
1) Click the "Connect" button to connect to the HDW download service. The program will download an index of all files currently available. Although in most cases the Windows operating system will automatically connect to the internet at this point, depending on your specific situation you might have to "log on" to the internet before starting the HDWHelper program.
2) Use the tabs at the top of the program screen to view the files by date or by track or the 30 day and 365 day track models. Click the checkboxes for the files you want.
3) When you've selected all the files you want, click the "DOWNLOAD" button and let the program do the rest. When it's downloaded the files, it will display the number of files processed. You can then quit the HDWHelper and proceed to use All-In-One.
