Amphitheatre season already more than halfway over now. Ladies & gentlemen, The O’Jays…JAYS!
Members of the Rock ’n’ Roll Hall of Fame, they were actually the pre-intermission act. After the restart, it was Charlie Wilson, 23 years clean and sober, survivor of prostate issues and generally enjoying his Second Act. For both sets of performers, it was all high-octane, all harmonies struck to perfection. But the Orchestra played only with Wilson. It would have been fantastic to hear the classic Gamble & Huff ‘Sound of Philadelphia’ string accompaniments to ‘Love Train’, for sure.
Forgot to mention the programme from two weeks ago, which was a screening of the 1975 motion picture Jaws with the Orchestra providing the live score. The French horn always brings the menace.

Fantastic scramble on in the featured added-money Race 4 at PennNat. No fewer than five of the seven in the 15-22pc probability-of-winning range. Excellent work.
Nearly 42pc chance for a horse you also probably found in Assiniboia 2.
And Fairmount 6 has an odds-on morning-line choice, but we will do what we can do upset that one. At least one nice edge appears.
In the song ‘Love Train’, horseplayers are reminded of the lyrics ‘Don’t need no ticket’ and ‘Let it ride…let it ride!’ Just thought you might find that interesting!
