Today’s Stakes Pageantry: None today, but Big-League Ice Hockey returns to La-La Land following the club’s bye week; the Kings host the hapless Coyotes at the arena this evening in DTLA.

Yesterday’s Activity:

Track (Win Mutuels $20+/Gettable)

Chas. Town (0/0) — Martinsburg woman charged with maliciously wounding her mother.

Delta (2/2) — Race 6 was contentious, but only High-Octane Chancers and Progressive-Minded Eggheads gave a bigger chance than most to Little G, 87 on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis; she rallied mildly to win by 4½ at $24.40. Next race there also was contentious, and again only High-Octane Chancers and Progressive-Minded Eggheads were OK OK with Cody Cody, 87 on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis; he raced gate-to-wire, pretty much, winning by a clean head at $59.20. The natural daily double paid $297.60, for $2. Good work.

Gulf (0/0) — Visiting Panthers edge San Jose, 6-5, in OT; Fla.’s Jaro Jagr, still in the league and still on Planet Earth, had an assist, his 1,900th career point — on his 45th birthday, no less. Good work.

Mahoning (0/0) — Fire crews among those worried about West Middlesex bridge project.

PennNat (0/0) — Visiting Flyers lose to Calgary, 3-1; Nick Cousins scored the Philalala goal.

Tampa (1/0) — Host Magic humiliated by San Antonio, 107-79; Nikola Vucevic led Orlando with 16 pts.

Turfway (4/3) — Race 2 was not contentious, but High-Octane Chancers and Progressive-Minded Eggheads dished up some satire for Indiana Charlie, 86 on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis; he rallied some to win by 2 at $44.20. Race 5 was not contentious, but High-Octane Chancers and Progressive-Minded Eggheads were close enough for Dual Qualifier Jazzy Kathy (82, 94); she raced gate-to-wire to win by 6¼ at $30.20. In Race 7, again not contentious, again only High-Octane Chancers and Progressive-Minded Eggheads had a chance with Siegfreedroesch, a bare-minimum 80 on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis; he rallied a little to win by 1 at $22.60. Good work.

Turf Paradise (0/0) — Host Suns thrash Jakers, 137-101; Phoenix’s Eric Bledsoe led all scorers with 25 pts.
