Did you see that news bit claiming that the earliest-known horse actually weighed about 12 lbs.?

That wasn’t the worst of it. After some sort of global-warming event, the horseys shrank to an unimaginable 8 lbs. in weight. The decrease in size was an adaptive response for the horse to survive the climate-change.

So if Al Gore is right and the world starts burning up again, that same kind of evolutionary pattern might kick in once more.

As if racing wasn’t contracting rapidly enough already…
